Millbrook Custom Cabinetry
Millbrook Custom Cabinetry offers a wide variety of styles, woods and finish options. We offer both Frameless/European/Full-Access Cabinets and Inset Framed Cabinets.
Some of the main construction features of our cabinetry are…
• 3/4” thick cabinet roof, bottom, back, sides and interior shelves in both wall and base cabinets; assembled with steel dowels and fluted birch dowels respectively
• Wall cabinets are 13-1/2” deep with door (frameless); 13-3/8” deep with frame (inset); this allows for easier storage of larger plates
• On frameless cabinets, hinges are soft/self closing (no more door slamming!)
• On wood framed cabinets, face frame is 3/4” thick solid wood
• Shelf supports are 3mm metal pins recessed into the shelf and fully adjustable
• Base shelving 3/4 deep, adjustable
• Drawers are solid maple, dovetail construction; sides are 5/8” thick with a 3/8” thick bottom fully captured
• Full extension, concealed glides with soft close are standard on our drawers
• Plywood or particle board construction: UV finished white birch veneered plywood or melamine veneered particle board, depending on your choice
Our cabinets are full custom, which means that you are not limited to the standard cabinet sizing or shapes. If you need a specific cabinet size (depth, height, width), we can make it!

How some of our woods are cut and what grades are used…
Flat Cut - The half-log, or flitch, is mounted with the heart side flat against the flitch table of the slicer. Then the slicing is done parallel to a line through the center of the log. This produces a variegated figure.
Rift Cut - Rift cut veneer is produced in the various species of Oak. The rift cut effect is obtained by cutting at an angle of about 15% off of the quartered position to avoid the flecks of the medullary rays.
Quarter Sawn - The slicing is made perpendicular to the annual growth rings of the tree. This creates a straight grain appearance. When this technique is applied on oak, the fleck marks are visible.
Rustic - This grade allows knots, split knots, ingrown bark and other character mark defects. The knots are of varying size, both sound and unsound and will not be puttied. All the natural color, defects and characteristics of the wood will be present.
